What is Fidya?
Fidya is a donation made when someone cannot fast during Ramadan due to valid reasons and cannot make up the fasts later.
Who pays Fidya?
- Elderly who cannot fast
- Those with chronic illness
- Pregnant or nursing mothers (if unable to make up)
- Those with permanent medical conditions
If you can make up the fasts later, you should do so instead of paying Fidya.
