After nearly a decade of quietly serving orphans in Indonesia, we've completely rebuilt ussunnah.org from the ground up. Our mission remains the same—100% of your donation goes directly to the children—but now we've made it easier than ever to support them, track your impact, and be part of our community.
Why We Rebuilt
For years, our website was functional but basic. It got the job done, but it didn't reflect the care and attention we put into our programs on the ground. More importantly, it didn't give you—our donors—the tools you deserve to see your impact and stay connected with our work.
We wanted to build something that matched the quality of our programs: clean, transparent, and focused entirely on what matters.

Zakat Calculator Enter your assets—savings, gold, silver, investments, business goods—and get your precise zakat obligation. The calculator handles nisab thresholds automatically and deducts liabilities to give you an accurate figure.
Fidyah Calculator If you're unable to fast during Ramadan due to chronic illness, old age, or pregnancy, calculate your fidyah payment based on current local food costs.

What Hasn't Changed
100% Donation Policy
Every dollar you donate still goes directly to the children. Our operational costs—this website included—are covered separately through income from our waqf (endowment). This has been our policy since 2014, and it will never change.
Our Neighborhood-First Approach
We still believe in small, intimate, personal help at the neighborhood level. Our local volunteers—unpaid community members who live among the orphans—package and distribute food monthly. No expensive international staff. No overhead eating into your donation.
$40 Feeds an Orphan for a Month
The core of our program remains unchanged. For just $40 per month, you provide complete food support for one orphan child in Indonesia. That's less than $1.35 per day to ensure a child has nutritious daily meals.
Deep Personal Relationships
Our volunteers still know each family personally. They live in the same neighborhoods, attend the same mosques, and respond immediately when needs arise. This personal connection is what makes our model work—and it's something no large charity can replicate.
Our Goals for 2025
We currently raise about $6,000 per month for our orphan feeding program. Our goal is to reach $10,000 per month so we can expand to more neighborhoods and feed more children.
With just 100 more monthly donors at $40/month, we can reach this goal.
That's 100 people deciding that $1.35/day is worth ensuring a child has food.
