There are five evil practices that can bring disaster to a country. We have to be aware of these five deeds and warn others to stay away from them.
In a hadith from Anas ibn Malik (may Allah blesses him), that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) says,
“When my nation adopts five evil practices, their destruction is inevitable: when they curse each other openly, they wear silk, they take up musical instruments, they drink wine, and men are satisfied with men and women are satisfied with women” [Baihaqi in Shu’ab al-Iman: 5084, classed as hasan li ghayrihi by al-Albani].
So, these five acts are:
- Cursing people
- Wearing silk (forbidden for men, allowed for women)
- Singing with musical instrument
- Drinking wine or alcohol
These five are major sins in Islam. We must stay away from all these five, so that Allah does not punish us and our country with any disaster.
