We can’t please all the people no matter how much we try. So, don’t try to please all the people, but try to please Allah. Strive for Allah’s pleasure.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) says:
“Whoever seeks the pleasure of Allah when people do not like it, then Allah will suffice him from the burden of humans. Whoever seeks human pleasure, with the wrath of Allah. Allah will make him burdened by humans “.
In another riwayah:
“Whoever seeks the pleasure of Allah even though people are angry, then Allah will be pleased with him and Allah will make people pleased with him. Whoever seeks human pleasure even though Allah is angry, then Allah is angry with him and Allah will make people angry with him as well “[Tirmidhi:2414, Ibn Hibban:276, Al Albani says that this hadith is saheeh, in Sahih At Tirmidhi).
Ash-Shafi’i (may Allah have mercy on him) said to Yunus ibn ‘Abd al-A’la:
“O Abu Musa, if you were to strive your utmost to please all the people, there is no way to do that. As that is the case, then make your deeds and your intention sincerely for Allah (ﷻ) alone” [al-Bayhaqi in Shu’ab al-Eemaan: 6518].
