One of the husband’s duties is to improve himself, then improve his family. He is obliged to educate his family with Islamic knowledge. And, prohibit them from committing immorality.
Allah ﷻ says,
“O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, over which are [appointed] angels, harsh and severe; they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them but do what they are commanded” [at-Tahreem 66:6].
Ibn Abbas explains this ayah: “(means) work in obedience to God and fear disobedience to God and command your family to remembrance God bless you”.
Mujahid when explaining this ayah, he says: “Fear God and advise your family to fear God and command them to obey God. And, forbid them to disobey God. Also, stand up to them and command them to do so and help them with it”[Tafseer Ibn Katheer].
