Islam encourages us to get married, and not to do tabattul. Tabattul is deliberately avoiding marriage to get away from the pleasures of the world.
And, people who marry they have completed half of their religion. As in a hadith from Anas ibn Malik (may Allah blesses him), that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ says,
“Whoever Allah provides with a righteous wife, Allah has assisted him in half of his religion. Let him fear Allah regarding the second half” [al-Mu’jam al-Awsat: 992. Al Albani says that this hadith is hasan].
Sa’ad ibn Abi Waqas says:
“The Prophet ﷺ prohibited Uthman bin Maz’un from practicing tabattul. Yet if that was allowed, we would have castrated ourselves” [Bukhari & Muslim].
Al Ghazali explains: “what damages our faith the most is something relates to stomach and genitals (bad desire). And marriage will overcome one of them. Because in marriage there is a shield from Satan, breaking off bad desires, preventing surges of lust, keeping sight and guarding genitals”.
